As Medical Director, Dr Lerato Motshudi is responsible for clinical governance, patient safety and quality of care offered across all Netcare Akeso facilities. 

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from North West University, an MBChB from the University of Pretoria, an MBA from GIBS and a Certificate in Applied Compassion from Stanford University. 

She practised as a mine medical officer before transitioning into corporate health, where she was the Head of Wellness at Alexander Forbes Health Consultants. She gained an understanding of managed care as a clinical risk manager at Medscheme prior to joining Netcare Akeso as Head of Research & Development. In this role she designed and implemented various mental health therapeutic programmes catering for various patient needs and outcomes.  

Akeso provides an environment where various disciplines collaborate in the care of mental health patients. Her presentation will provide insights into the value and challenges of collaborative multidisciplinary teams.
